Cognitive characteristics of intellectually gifted children with a diagnosis of ADHD

Some children may be intellectually gifted, and yet experience behavioral academic difficulties. We examined 82 twice exceptional (2eADHD), having an excellent General Ability Index (GAI) derived from the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (GAI >= 125), a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). They accounted 8.8% large sample with ADHD, which is as high proportion gifted in typical population. This over-representation does not reflect misdiagnosis these showed features predicted on grounds data regarding ADHD sample, including lower scores working memory processing speed measures, combined inclusion criteria giftedness. Based information concerning either Specific Learning (SLD) or development, we observed that characteristics intelligence are similar to those seen SLD, but irrespective whether 2e-ADHD had comorbid SLD.
